Fresh, fleshy and delectable with notes of ripe fruit. The palate delivers vibrant flavours of raspberry and blackcurrant, balanced by refreshing acidity and silky tannins, culminating in a refreshing finish with fruit continuing to dominate.

Pairs With

This delectable Beaujolais Villages pairs beautifully with charcuterie boards, soft cheeses, vegetarian starters and dishes, grilled or roasted meats and poultry, or enjoyed slightly chilled for casual dining.

Located in the southern part of winegrowing Burgundy, Château de Varennes is situated in Quincié-en-Beaujolais, north of Lyon. This 11th-century château has been owned and operated by members of the Charveriat family since 1809. The Gamay grape is king here, capable of subtle expressions when planted in top-quality siliceous and granitic terroirs. The vines are planted in granitic soil on south-facing slopes around the château, with such conditions optimal for encouraging the ripening of Gamay and its characteristic expression of red fruit.
