The Mustang was designed in April 1940 by a design team headed by James Kindelberger of North American Aviation in response to a requirement of the British Purchasing Commission. The Purchasing Commission approached North American Aviation to build Curtiss P-40 fighters under license for the Royal Air Force. Rather than build an old design from another company, North American Aviation proposed the design and production of a more modern fighter. The prototype NA-73X airframe was rolled out on 9 September 1940, 102 days after the contract was signed, and first flew on 26 October.

Color is awesome but material isn’t.

The color is pretty much as advertised. I wear a 33 so I order up a size and they were both too long and too big. Instead of returning them I washed them and put them in the dryer. The length after washing turned out perfect but the waist is still a little too big. It should also be noted that the quality of the material isn’t the best. After washing them this is how the pockets will look. You have to iron them each time to get them flat again. I would buy again because of the variety of colors but only at a cheaper price.
