Carol uses a Power Hammer to forge this broad, thin style decorative leaf with chased lines, which she learnt from Dave Hanson of Lake Superior Metalsmiths. While warm, the handle is dipped in vegetable oil, then washed and sprayed with a clear lacquer and the shovel pan is coated with black oxide for added durability.
