Description:
A study of the structure, growth, and future of transnational human travel and communication.
Increasingly, people travel and communicate across borders. Yet, we still know little about the overall structure of this transnational world. Is it really a fully globalised world in which everything is linked, as popular catchphrases like 'global village' suggest? Through a sweeping comparative analysis of eight types of mobility and communication among countries worldwide — from migration and tourism to Facebook friendships and phone calls — Mapping the Transnational World demonstrates that our behaviour is actually regionalised, not globalised.
Emanuel Deutschmann shows that transnational activity within world regions is not so much the outcome of political, cultural, or economic factors, but is driven primarily by geographic distance. He explains that the spatial structure of transnational human activity follows a simple mathematical function, the power law, a pattern that also fits the movements of many other animal species on the planet. Moreover, this pattern remained extremely stable during the five decades studied — 1960 to 2010. Unveiling proximity-induced regionalism as a major feature of planet-scale networks of transnational human activity, Deutschmann provides a crucial corrective to several fields of research.
Revealing why a truly global society is unlikely to emerge, Mapping the Transnational World highlights the essential role of interaction beyond borders on a planet that remains spatially fragmented.

Solid Purchase
Size: X-Small, Color: Red
This coat delivers strong quality and clean style. The fabric feels sturdy and warm, and it holds its shape well in cold weather. The color stays bright, and the stitching looks secure. The fit is true to size, and the coat layers easily over sweaters without feeling bulky.

This coat is warm, stylish, and very well made. The stitching is clean and the fabric feels durable. It’s perfect for layering and works great with jeans or leggings. I love that it keeps me warm without feeling bulky. Great value for the price.

Good quality
Size: Medium, Color: Navy
I gave this as a Christmas present and he loved it. I was worried when I ordered it that the quality might not be that good, but I worried for nothing.

This is more like a long cardigan sweater, than a coat.
Size: Small, Color: #2 Blackandwhite
This is more like a long cardigan sweater, than a coat. It doesn't have much structure & the pocket placement is too high for a coat. That being said, it's very soft & comfortable. As far as sizing goes, the sleeves run a bit long, but the coat, itself, runs a bit tight. I'm 5'10'' and a small fit me, but I wouldn't be able wear anything very thick under it & I'm thin. It's light & machine washable. I almost kept it to wear as a long sweater, but it looks like a coat ,so I sent it back. If you're very thin with long arms and don't mind the pockets being a bit high, then this could be a very stylish piece for you. Otherwise, I would pass.

i would definitely recommend. stick with your regular size or size up for a less slim fit
Size: Small, Color: Black
I usually wear a medium, I ordered a small based on reading the reviews. I am 150lbs 5’4”. this coat fits great for me personally. it’s not bulky, it’s not baggy. it is a slim fit jacket, definitely more on the slender side. when i raise my arms above my head , the sleeves do come up a bit. I would suggest sticking to your normal size or if you want a less slim fit with a tiny bit more room, sizing up wouldn’t be an issue. the coat is super soft and has some weight to it. i would recommend this jacket, it is warm and a nice piece for formal attire.
