In dit laboratorium voor alles wat modern is staat de relatie tussen het Vlaamse literaire enfant terrible Paul Van Ostaijen en zijn onstuimige vriendin Emma Clément op barsten. Net als honderdduizenden in de stad leven zij in armoede, verslaving en depressie.

Wanneer Van Ostaijen, tot aan de nok gevuld met merkandijs (cocaïne), in het appartement van Elise Kraiser in een opwelling een dossiermap met het intrigerende opschrift FEUERHANDS OBSESSIE steelt, brengt de dichter een reeks dramatische gebeurtenissen op gang die een verrassend licht werpen op de politicus die de jongste tijd het snelst aan invloed wint met zijn extreemrechtse partij NSDAP: Herr Adolf Hitler.

Bob Van Laerhoven (1953) is journalist, globetrotter en columnist. Hij is schrijver van meer dan 30 boeken en iis doorgebroken in de VS, Frankrijk en Canada. Bob Van Laerhoven publiceerde in de leidende internationale magazines Ellery Queen’s Mystery Magazine en Wasafiri. Onlangs nog riep The San Diego Book Review zijn Dangerous Obsessions uit tot de beste bundel korte verhalen van 2015. Met De wraak van Baudelaire, een internationaal succes, won hij de Knack Hercule Poirotprijs 2007.
