Het systeem is ontwikkeld op BMW M2 Competition (F87N) uitgerust met OPF / GPF, maar het past in beide versies (OPF en niet OPF).

De Evolution link pipe set upgradet het Slip-On systeem naar het Evolution systeem, dat bestaat uit een slip-on achterdemper en grotere Evolution link pipe buizen met een middendemper, allemaal ontworpen om de prestaties en afwerking van het complete systeem zo perfect te maken als het eruit ziet. Het is volledig vervaardigd uit titanium. Het hele systeem is ontworpen om de soepelste stroom te bieden. De vermogens- en koppelwinst van de M2 Competition met de combinatie van het Slip-On Line-systeem en de Evolution-linkpijpset zijn gegarandeerd. Diepgaande engineering heeft een uniek geluidsprofiel opgeleverd, duidelijk verschillend van het standaardsysteem, wat een diep en sportief geluid oplevert zonder ongewenste boventonen of drone en een bijna racegeluid, evenals een significante verandering in het geluid met de kleppen in de open of gesloten posities.

De bedieningskit om de balans tussen sportiviteit en comfort te optimaliseren is inbegrepen, samen met de ontvanger en Sound Remote controller (of smartphone-app) om de kleppen te regelen.

Bij het installeren van de Akrapovič Evolution linkpijpset is het opnieuw toewijzen van de ECU verplicht om mogelijke waarschuwingssignalen voor "controlelampjes" te voorkomen.
