De meerstammige Prunus Nigra
Bent u tussen al het groen kwijt welke boom/struik eigenlijk welke was? Dan is de meerstammige Prunus Nigra wellicht handig. Deze meerstammige struik staat namelijk bekend om zijn prachtige rode blad. In maart begint het feestje al. Het rode blad van de Prunus Nigra komt dan aan de takken te hangen. Tegelijkertijd (dus ook in maart) komt ook de roze bloesem op. Ook dit is iets waar de meerstammige Prunus Nigra om bekend staat. In het voorjaar is het dus dubbel genieten. De Latijnse naam voor deze boom is dus Prunus Nigra. Deze boom is ook verkrijgbaar in dakboom variant en op stam. De Nederlandse naam voor de Prunus Nigra is ''Rode kerspruim'', maar deze term is minder bekend. De term Nigra betekent in het Nederlands donker. En dat klopt ook wel, want het blad is donkerrood. De meerstammige Prunus Nigra is een ontzettend leuke boom voor bijvoorbeeld in de hoek van uw tuin. Hij groeit lekker dicht en kan best breed worden. Qua lengte kunt u hem ook goed indammen, want anders kan deze boom wel 7 meter hoog worden. Tenslotte past deze boom ook zeer goed in het Nederlandse klimaat.
De meerstammige Prunus Nigra kopen
Een foto zegt natuurlijk meer dan 1000 woorden, dat gezegde kennen we. Maar of de Prunus Nigra in meerstammige vorm ook in uw tuin past, daar kunt u het beste dit stukje even voor lezen. Hieronder geven we een paar weetjes en eigenschappen van deze boom.- De meerstammige Prunus Nigra past zowel in de kleine als grote tuin;
- De Prunus Nigra is een bladverliezend soort. in de late herfst verliest ook deze kanjer zijn blad;
- In maart komt de witroze bloesem tevoorschijn tezamen met het blad;
- Zet deze meerstammige rode kerspruim niet in de schaduw, maar in de zon of de halfschaduw;
- Een Prunus Nigra groeit snel, dat is wel iets om rekening mee te houden (met het snoeien);
- Zand, klei, zavel, veen, het meeste is allemaal prima, maar aanplantgrond is altijd handig;
- Deze Prunus is ook winterhard en kan goed tegen de wind.
Het snoeien van de Prunus Nigra
Wat betreft het snoeien komt het bij de meerstammige Prunus Nigra niet al te nauw. Maar uiteraard moet deze prachtige boom (of struik, net hoe u een meerstammige wilt noemen) wel gezond blijven. Daar zorgt u voor door te snoeien. Indien u de Prunus Nigra lekker klein wilt houden, dan moet u elk jaar een beetje snoeien in de vorm die u mooi vindt. Snoeit u in 1 jaar meer dan 33% van de takken eraf, dan kan dit schadelijk zijn voor de boom. Het is mogelijk om een jaartje niet te snoeien hoor, maar indien u een kleinere tuin heeft is dit wel handig. Ook is het minder verstandig om de meerstammige boom uit zijn oorspronkelijke vorm te halen. Snoei gewoon lekker met de vorm mee. We raden aan om tussen oktober en maart te snoeien. In april komt namelijk de sapstroom vrij en kunt u de boom beschadigen. Wel kunt u het hele jaar door deze meerstammige boom kopen.Het planten van een meerstammige boom
Alles leuk en aardig denkt u misschien, maar u weet nog steeds niet hoe u deze boom in de grond krijgt. Even geduld, over een paar minuten weet u het, want hieronder leggen we het uit. Het gaat net zoals bij andere bomen.- zorg dat het plantgat 1,5 tot 2 keer zo groot is als de kluit;
- Wacht dus met graven totdat u de kluit ziet. Deze valt waarschijnlijk groter uit dan u denkt;
- plaats de meerstammige prunus in het plantgat en vul deze aan met grond vermengd met potgrond;
- Boompalen heeft een meerstammige boom niet nodig, want hij heeft goed evenwicht door zijn breedte;
- druk de grond om de pot stevig aan met uw handen, dit is beter voor de doorworteling;
- Na het planten kunt u het beste gelijk even wat water geven.

Can I have Term 2 now?

This is by far my favorite book of Lyra's to date. I gobbled this book up so fast, I was so upset I finished it. I know this is going to be a book I reread, just like Fate Hollow Academy.
I loved Fate Hollow Academy, so I was excited when Lyra announced she was taking us readers back to Kalista. Although the characters from Fate Hollow are mentioned several times throughout the book, this book is about Pandora and her love interests in the Demon Realm.
Before you deep dive into this book, definitely look at the trigger warnings before you start. When Lyra says there's dark themes in this book, she meant it. Also, just know this book does end on a cliffhanger and will probably leave you with as many questions as it did me.
Below may contain some minor spoilers, so keep that in mind if you want to keep reading my review.
Pandora's first 2 decades of her life are full of torture, hatred, and confinement in a cellar. That is until her father finds her and brings her into the world she was supposed to live in. Because of her upbringing she wasn't acclimated to the Demon world and the way their society works so when she is offered the chance to go to a Demon Reform Accademy, she accepts it to learn the ways of society and how she is supposed to feed.
Pandora isn't like the other common demons in this world, no. She, like her father Death, are soul-eaters. Pandora is too scared to release her powers because she doesn't want to kill anyone, so she needs to learn how to feed off of a piece of soul instead of taking the whole thing.
Because of who her father is, she's classed as a Noble, and while she doesn't agree with her fellow Noble students, who look down on the "lower" class, she also is faced with 3 Demons who hate her for being a Noble. Theses a lot of back and forth tension which these 3 demons who have issues of their own. One is obsessed with her, and wants to know all of her secrets. One leaks fear all over the place, but also is scared of the "princess" -wink- -wink-. One is a complete drunk who doesn't like her just because he's got family Noble problems.
Don't worry, there are 2 other demons who are just the sweetest towards her. One who will get vengeance for anything done to her, he's got Golden Retriever energy around her and touch her and die energy for anyone around her. Finally, there is one who is friends with her even when the whole school is scared of her, who brings her into his dreams and will create nightmares for those who bother her.

This was more than I expected...
Format: Kindle
So...I finished this book at nearly 2am! It was just that hard to put down. I loved that it's set in the same world as Fates Hollow but in the future. Poor Pandora has been through so much but there's light at the end of the tunnel for her. She finally meets her dad and it turns out he's amazing. In order to help her learn about demon society and how to control her magic he sends her to the Demon Reform Academy. There she meets 2 awesome demons who help her and care for her. She also sadly meets her 3 tormentors. I will say though that while they do bully Pandora they also rescue her several times and defend her. They too have traumatizing pasts and can't see the good that is in front of them. Of course demon society needs to be shaken up too since that's part of the problem. I really enjoyed this read. I teared up a few times throughout the book but I liked the characters and that ending...well it looks like 3 in denial are going to need to grovel hard.

MUST READ BOOK!!

I was in a huge reading slump, when one of my favorite authors recommended this book in her readers group (The amazing Marie Mistry 🫶) and I absolutely DEVOURED this book. Now I’m in the club crying about having to wait until December for Term 2!
This book is about a girl named Pandora who has suffered a life that nobody would ever wish to have. This book is about Pandora learning how to live, learning about herself and what she really wants. She has a long journey to find out all of these things, but she took the first steps in this book and it was beautiful to read. Some of the men in this book are our dream men, Hunter and Reed 😍 and then we have the men who need some work and who we all really just want to beat up until they admit what they really feel, Skel, Bram and Dexter. But that cliffy was a killer and I absolutely cannot wait until the next book!!
You have written an absolute dream of a book Lyra and I eagerly await the next installment in this series!!!

Fallen Angels, fae, vampires, oh my!

I couldn’t wait to read this book; there was so much hype about it! And there was no doubt why. I fell in love with the characters and the plot itself. This book is mainly plot driven more than friction driven but it’s easy to follow along with. The characters are fun, easily understood. The main setting is at an academy where both the main characters are going through trials and building strength for the final test, The Transcendent. There are fantastic side characters as well. I loved the camaraderie between Huntyr and her friends. But we don’t like Lanson. 😆
We do have some plot twists that come into play throughout the book. Secrets and betrayal to be seen. I did adore Wolf and Huntyr’s relationship. It was a classic slow burn trope. They didn’t hit it off fast, but in time their feelings grew. I loved their banter, so sexy. Wolf is your next book boyfriend; Huntyr is your next vampire assassin independent bad-a*s female. Themes include loyalty, trust, self-discovery, a true slow burn romance. Side note: book ends on a angsty cliffhanger!

“My heart bows to you and you only, Huntress.”

This book popped up in my KU recommended reading suggestions and the synopsis sounded like what I was in the mood for. I'm so glad I took a chance on it. I went into this knowing absolutely nothing about it and ended up really liking it. I love when this happens.
The main characters are likeable and I easily found myself rooting for them. There is a mystery element to each of their backstories that I enjoyed watching unfold and can't wait to get more of. Wolf, in particular, has me fixated. Love him.
I found this to be an entertaining, addictive read with a plot that moves along at a good pace. It reads so easily I found myself very reluctant to put it down. Lots of twists and turns and the angst is there. A good set up for the next book to come, for sure.
My issues with this book....the dialogue feels a bit juvenile at times and there is a repetitive over use of a particular word phrasing that I found myself giving the ole eye-roll to. There are, without a doubt, some pretty cliche moments that gave me a bit of the cringe. I think this could've certainly 100% benefited from more depth regarding the world building. Perhaps the world building was sacrificed to keep the pacing quick? Just a guess. Also, the lack of consistency of character for the FMC was really evident and so she feels quite illogical at times.
Overall, this was a fun and enjoyable read that hit the spot well enough for me. That ending certainly has me impatiently pining for book 2!
