About This Class

Join us for a special two‑day deep dive into Baby Lock’s powerful IQ Designer. Whether you love drawing, scanning artwork, importing files, or wirelessly sending designs to your machine, IQ Designer makes custom embroidery easier than ever. Over two full days, you’ll explore the creative tools built into the Radiance, Altair 2, Meridian 2, and Solaris while completing three hands‑on projects.

What We’ll Cover

Across two immersive days, you’ll learn how to:

• Draw and digitize directly on your machine’s screen
• Scan artwork and convert it instantly into embroidery
• Import and modify existing files using USB or wireless transfer
• Use IQ Designer tools for fills, lines, embossing, and more
• Complete three projects: a fabric tray, an embossed towel, and a trivet

Materials Included

• Use of Baby Lock Radiance, Altair 2, Meridian 2, or Solaris
• All project materials and stabilizers
• Classroom tools and accessories

Instructor

Janis Easter
Janis is a lifelong sewist who learned on her grandmother’s treadle machine and has been creating ever since — from childhood clothing to an infamous leisure suit for her husband, and now garments, embroidery, and digitizing projects for family and friends. After a 35‑year career in accounting, she returned to the Midwest and now spends her days designing, sewing, and exploring the full capabilities of her machines.
She has pursued a wide range of textile arts, but always comes back to sewing and embroidery. Janis devoted a full year to mastering IQ Designer and was thrilled to win the 2024 Baby Lock IQ Designer Contest. She now shares her passion through teaching, offering training in IQ Designer, sewing, and serging to help others grow their skills and creativity.
