He wears a light coloured thobe (long shirt) and a patterned headscarf (ghutra). Around his waist he wears a cartridge belt attached to leather bandoliers, and in his right hand he holds a khanjar (dagger). In the background the stoney ground is bare of vegetation. In the far distance a line of trees grows along the bottom of Jebel Hafeet [Jabal Hafit]. Wilfred Thesiger spent a week on Jebel Hafeet [Jabal Hafit] hunting Arabian Tahr [Hemitragus jayakari] with Arab and Bedouin guides in April 1948.Due to the nature of these images, prints will reproduce any signs of age, wear or damage that occurred before they were archived by the Pitt Rivers Museum.
