This increases hardness (Rc 75 80) without increasing brittleness, which is measurably harder than high speed steel. Body and clearance are gold and black surface treated for maximum lubricity. I like these better than the Blissy mulberry silk pillowcase. They feel smoother and softer and make my hair less frizzy. I've been buying these for years and they hold up great! I just switched to the zipper version instead of the envelope style, and I really like the more modern aesthetic of the hidden zipper. They are nice!
