MEGA MAGIC Model - Tuflite Epoxy Surfboard 9'6" x 24.25" x 4.25" - 113L

The Mega Magic rocker, Magic rails, and the Magic hull are unique to Walden Surfboards, the front 1/2 of the hull is concave, this single concave transitions into a double concave in the rear, and the back 1/3 transitions into a moderate “V”. The concave nose adds lift and stability, perfect for noseriding. The double-concaved hull and hard rails make the board fast, stable, responsive, and maneuverable in all conditions. The Mega Magic rails are hard, they tend to be harder than most other longboards, the unique bottom curves & bevels keep the rails from catching, unlike most other hard rail boards. The Mega Magic will float like a board that is 12"-18" longer. For the bigger person that normally rides an 9'. With the Mega, this 8' can be surfed without giving up float or stability. 

The colorway is specific to this length of surfboard.  Colors may not be customized.

ABOUT WALDEN

Known by many as the “Father of the Modern Longboard,” Steve Walden shaped his first surfboard in 1961, at age 13, and never looked back. Eight years later, the native Southern Californian opened his first board factory and store in Huntington Beach, then moved to the North Shore of Oahu in 1972, where he made a name for himself as a prolific longboard shaper.

I really like the fact that the pieces were already painted. I compared the cost of the unit to buying the pieces from the big box store and this was far more cost effective for me. The installation went well and I ended up creating a template for installation. For the template, I measured the width of one of the flanges (part that mounts to the wall), cut a piece of material the same width. I found the center and drew a line down the middle. I then placed the section with top and bottom holes over the center line and then marked the other two holes. I then drilled out the holes, put on wall and used level to plumb. I used small pilot drill bit to drill through the template into the wall. One thing to note is that I did not use the included anchors instead opting for some from the big box store.

I saw these on line and decided I could probably just build one on my own. After pricing the parts out at the local hardware store, it was almost the same price, and opted for the less hassle pre-fab online kit. The material is well made, same as the hardware store, except the threads are shorter for easier assembly, and its painted for a cleaner look. I bought the 12"Dx42"L kit, and although I knew the measurements, it was a lot more massive than it looked in the picture. An 8' or 10"x 24"L kit would have fit my needs better. I only assembled 2 of the 3 sections, and will use the single section leftover for another shelf elsewhere, so it wasn't a problem. I'm happy with the end result and would recommend.

The poles are very sturdy. The order doesn’t come with wood but I only spent ~$15-20 on the wood and stain needed to shelve the poles. The only complaint I have is it was hard to install; mostly due to my lack of experience. It took most of the day to install and stain and cute the shelves. The poles weren’t completely flush to the wall and I couldn’t figure it out for the life of me. I love the way these turned out and I know these shelves will be coming with me to the next home I have. 10/10 would recommend, even with the hard installation. SO worth it.

Good legs, some what utilitarian or industrial, they are strong as they are made out of pipe, and assembly is fairly easy once you get the idea of how it goes together. They are roughly 1.5 feet across maybe a bit less adjustable height on each leg, if you have wood floors you may want to put a pad under each leg as they are full metal pipes. Pretty interesting idea and does not cost much.
