The game revolves around three types of card decks: Idol cards, Produce cards, and Event cards. Each card type plays a unique role in helping players accumulate popularity points, the key to winning the game.
Players start with three initial Idol cards, each representing a different talent type—note, diamond, and heart. The game progresses as players use these cards to take various actions. They can take lessons to acquire talent chips, secure Event cards that provide special resources, draw Produce cards for additional popularity points, or replace an existing Idol card with a new one from the table.
Each turn, players carefully strategize how to spend their talents and resources to acquire new and more talented idols. The goal is to build the most popular lineup by the game's end, when the Produce card deck is exhausted. At that point, the player with the highest total of popularity points from Idol and Produce cards emerges victorious.
Starlight Stage offers a unique blend of resource management and strategic planning, all set against the exciting backdrop of the pop idol industry. With each turn, players must decide how best to use their Idol cards to maximize their talents and resources, all while competing against others to produce the next big star. The game is a vibrant and engaging experience for fans of card games and idol culture alike.
