The Human PPY (Pancreatic prohormone) ELISA Kit measures PPY in Human Serum, Plasma, Cell Culture Supernatant, Cell or Tissue Lysate. This kit is based on Competitive-ELISA detection method and takes 2h assay time. The microplate provided in this kit has been precoated with PPY. PPY in the sample or standard competes with a fixed amount of biotin-labeled PPY for sites on a pre-coated antibody specific to PPY. Free components are washed off. After adding HRP-Streptavidin Conjugate (SABC), biotin specifically binds with streptavidin to form immune complexes. Wash off unbound conjugate. Add TMB substrate solution. Then, TMB was catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue color product that turned yellow after adding a stop solution. Read the O.D. absorbance at 450nm in a microplate reader. Compare OD450 value of sample with the standard curve through curve fitting software to determine the concentration of PPY in the sample. The concentration of the target substance is inversely proportional to the OD450 value.

These work well, were worth the price, and made good stocking stuffers. I took off 1 star, because they appeared somewhat different from the photo. The photo made the glitter ones looked like they had stars as part of the pattern (like a night sky or outer space), but it seems like that effect was added to the photo to enhance the glittery appearance. They are, in fact, very sparkly and not very celestial, so they were just a tad more ‘girly’ than I was expecting. Nothing wrong with glitter and glam—just different from what I thought I was getting. On a positive note, the glitter is sealed in and doesn’t shed, so you won’t be spreading sparkly escapees for the rest of eternity. (I guess I would give 4.5 stars if I could)
