The NPT side features a tapered thread design that seals through thread interference and requires the use of high-quality PTFE tape or thread sealant, while the medium pressure side utilizes a 60-degree cone and thread connection to create a reliable metal-to-metal seal commonly used in systems up to 20,000 psi (1379 bar).

Manufactured from cold worked 316 stainless steel, these adapters provide exceptional strength, corrosion resistance, and durability in harsh operating environments, with special materials available upon request to meet specific application requirements. NPT connections can handle pressures up to 15,000 psi (1034 bar) and temperatures up to 400F (204C), though performance may vary based on size, media, and installation conditions, and overall system capability should always be based on the lower-rated connection and associated components.
