Die kleine Hexe Kiki verlässt gemäß der Hexentradition ihre Heimat, um in einer fremden Stadt ihre Kräfte zu vervollkommnen. Zusammen mit ihrem schwarzen Kater Jiji findet sie durch einen glücklichen Zufall bei einer Bäckerfamilie Unterkunft und entwickelt den Wunsch, selbst einen Betrieb zu eröffnen: einen Lieferservice, den sie mit ihrer Flugfähigkeit betreiben will. Nach kleineren Startschwierigkeiten bekommt Kiki einige Aufträge und ihr Lieferservice entwickelt sich bald zu einem florierenden Unternehmen.
