Ludwig Mies van der Rohe entwarf für die Weltausstellung 1929 in Barcelona den deutschen Pavillon und das zugehörige Mobiliar. Der Barcelona-Pavillon diente unter anderem dem spanischen Königspaar, Alfonso XIII. und Victoria Eugenia als Schauplatz der Eröffnungszeremonie. Während Mies van der Rohe bei dem Gebäude seine Vorstellungen von avantgardistischer Stahl- und Glasarchitektur umsetzte, ließ er sich bei dem Entwurf der Sitzmöbel durch historische Vorbilder inspirieren. Mies van der Rohe ging von dem antiken, scherenförmig zusammenklappbaren Faltstuhl aus, der bereits ägyptischen Regenten als Herrschaftsinsignie diente. Er übernahm – dem Anlass gemäß – das repräsentative Motiv des »Scherenstuhls« und interpretierte es neu. Entsprechend dem luxuriösen Gesamteindruck des Pavillons verwandte Mies van der Rohe nicht Holz, wie bei den historischen Vorbildern, sondern verchromten Bandstahl und Lederpolster mit Knopfsteppung. Der Pavillon wurde nach der Weltausstellung abgerissen, erhielt jedoch in der retrospektiven Würdigung – zusammen mit seiner Einrichtung –Vorbildcharakter für einen vielerorts etablierten »Internationalen Stil«. 1986 wurde der Barcelona-Pavillon rekonstruiert und wieder aufgebaut.

Shrink-wrapped shirt???
Color: Clear Blue, Size: X-Large
This shirt arrived in a vacuum packed clear package which caused wrinkles in the synthetic material.
Instructions to remove the wrinkles are to run the shirt through a wash cycle. Well, that didn't work! I'm hoping a dry cleaning service can steam press the wrinkles out.
Aside from that issue it is a very nice shirt. Sizing good. Fabric thickness and material are very good. Because it is made from polyester and spandex shrinkage will not be an issue.

Great size and cut for an athletic build.

I have purchased about a dozen different Coofandy long-sleeve and short-sleeve shirts and I absolutely love them. I'm 5'6" and 175 lbs with an athletic build and I wear a medium from this company. For an average build, they may seem a little "undersized", but if your looking for a shirt that really shows your physique these are perfect. I'm normally a Vuori guy for my athletic cut clothing, but these shirt are one quarter the price, a really nice cut, comfortable, and decent quality. They are cheap enough that I added a host of different colors to my wardrobe.
