Das ausschließliche Medium der 1967 in Chile geborenen Sandra Vásquez de la Horra ist das Zeichnen mit Bleistift und Farbstift auf Papier. Zum Motivrepertoire gehören Volksreligion, Aberglaube, Märchen und Erinnerungen an die Pinochet-Diktatur, wobei die Künstlerin lateinamerikanische Traditionen mit europäischen verbindet. In einem ungewöhnlichen weiteren Bearbeitungsschritt verleiht sie den Zeichnungen ihre endgültige und charakteristische Form: die Künstlerin taucht sie in ein Bad aus geschmolzenem Bienenwachs, der als gelblich-brauner Film haften bleibt. Die Zeichnungen wirken nach dieser Prozedur durchscheinend und seltsam zeitlos – eine Ästhetik, die den surrealen Gehalt der Darstellungen noch verstärkt. Great Buy for quality & price
