Die Auseinandersetzung mit der Kunst und Kunsttheorie Johannes Ittens tritt gegenwärtig in eine neue Epoche: Nach der anfänglichen emphatischen Stilisierung des Ittenbildes und den ideologiekritischen Angriffen unter den Vorzeichen der Postmoderne, beginnt sich die Forschung zu Itten nun auf einer erweiterten Materialgrundlage und mit neuen Fragen zu entfalten. Über die Jahrhundertschwelle hinweg erscheint das Verhältnis von Traditionsbezug und Avantgardeanspruch bei Johannes Itten in veränderten Perspektiven. Die künstlerischen, kunsttheoretischen und kunstpädagogischen Arbeiten Ittens werden auf ihre geistesgeschichtlichen Kontexte und ihre künstlerischen Traditionslinien hin neu befragt. Ein vom Institut für Kunstgeschichte der Universität des Saarlandes in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Saarland Museum und der Johannes-Itten-Stiftung (Bern) veranstaltetes wissenschaftliches Symposium (27.-28.11.2002, Saarland Museum Saarbrücken) unternimmt den Versuch, ein aktuelles Resümee zu ziehen und neue Impulse zu geben. Great cushioning, easy storage

I am so happy I bought this. I do back stretches, and need to be on the floor.. Getting up & down is hard at 77, and carpets are hard. This helps sooo much! I don’t hurt my knees when getting down or getting up. The mat is comfortable and provides plenty of padding. It is easy to roll up and store with the included strap. I am tall, and there is extra length, so my head and feet are on the mat. This was a good purchase! This has not torn, and wipes down easily. It doesn’t attract dog hair, which is another reason I wanted a mat.

Love my mat!

I’m new to stretching and recovery classes, and there is a lot of floor work. I was using the gym mats, but my knees, lower back, and glutes were hurting from being on the floor.
This mat is the perfect thickness and feels wonderful during floor exercises. It gives me the extra cushion I need without being difficult to use. It’s also lightweight, durable, easy to clean, and easy to roll up for transport. The pink makes me smile. That said , the mat makes the classes more enjoyable.
